Returns & Cancellation
Last updated: 17.09.2026
This page explains how cancellations, returns, refunds and faulty product claims are handled by ForgePC.
ForgePC PCs are generally assembled to order according to the customer's selected or agreed specification. Nothing on this page limits or removes any statutory consumer rights available under Irish or EU law.
1. Builds displayed on our website
PC configurations displayed on our catalogue, homepage, product pages or other areas of the website are example configurations.
These configurations are not automatically pre-made or off-the-shelf PCs held in stock. They are examples of possible PC specifications which can be ordered and, where requested, customised to the customer's requirements.
Once an order is accepted, the PC is assembled specifically for that customer.
Therefore, the same cancellation, return, refund and warranty conditions applicable to custom-built PCs apply to PCs ordered from, or based on, configurations displayed on our website.
2. Cancelling before assembly
If you wish to cancel an order, contact us as soon as possible at hello@forgepc.ie.
If we receive your cancellation before ForgePC has purchased components or started work on the build, we will assess the cancellation and, where applicable, refund the amount paid.
Where a deposit has been paid for a custom or made-to-order build, the deposit may be retained where ForgePC has already incurred costs or purchased components specifically for the customer's order, subject always to applicable consumer law.
3. Custom and made-to-order builds
Builds configured through our PC Builder, built from a customer's own specification, or based on a configuration displayed on our website are assembled according to the customer's selected or agreed requirements.
Under Irish consumer law, the statutory 14-day cooling-off right for distance purchases does not apply in certain circumstances to goods that are made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised.
Where this exception applies, a customer cannot cancel a completed custom-built PC simply because they have changed their mind.
This does not affect statutory rights relating to goods that are faulty, damaged, not as described, not fit for purpose, or otherwise do not conform to the contract.
4. 30% deposit for custom builds
A 30% deposit may be required for custom-configured builds before ForgePC purchases components or begins assembly.
Because components may be purchased and the PC assembled specifically for the customer's confirmed requirements, the deposit may be retained where the customer changes their mind, refuses to proceed, or rejects a completed build for reasons unrelated to a fault, damage, or failure to match the specification agreed with ForgePC.
The remaining 70% balance must be paid before the completed PC is released for collection or delivery.
Where a customer raises a genuine issue with the completed build, ForgePC will assess the issue and, where appropriate, provide a repair, replacement, correction, refund or other remedy in accordance with applicable consumer law.
This deposit policy does not affect any statutory rights the customer may have under Irish consumer law. Where ForgePC cannot supply the agreed goods, or where the goods are faulty, damaged, not as described or otherwise do not conform to the contract, the customer's statutory rights remain unaffected.
5. 14-day cooling-off period
Where the statutory cooling-off right applies to an online purchase, consumers generally have 14 days from receiving the goods to notify the trader that they wish to cancel.
The goods must generally then be returned within a further 14 days. The customer may be responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless the law provides otherwise.
Because ForgePC PCs are generally assembled according to the customer's selected or agreed configuration, the statutory cooling-off right may not apply where the goods fall within the legal exception for goods made to the consumer's specifications or clearly personalised.
If you believe your particular order qualifies for a statutory cancellation right, contact us at hello@forgepc.ie and we will provide the applicable cancellation instructions.
6. Faulty, damaged or incorrect goods
If your PC or component is faulty, damaged in transit, not as described, or does not match the specification agreed with you, contact us as soon as possible at hello@forgepc.ie.
This applies to PCs ordered from website configurations as well as individually customised builds.
Faulty-product claims are separate from change-of-mind cancellation rights and are handled in accordance with your statutory consumer rights.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, the available remedy may include repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
7. Returning a PC or component
Please contact ForgePC before sending any PC or component back.
We will provide return instructions appropriate to the circumstances. Customers should not send equipment to an address unless ForgePC has confirmed the return arrangements.
Where a return is required because goods are faulty or do not conform to the contract, ForgePC will handle the return in accordance with applicable consumer law.
8. Original packaging
ForgePC provides the original component boxes and packaging supplied with the components where available.
We strongly recommend that customers retain all original boxes, protective materials, accessories and manuals for the life of the PC.
Original packaging may be requested where equipment needs to be safely transported or returned.
However, the absence of original packaging does not automatically remove or restrict statutory consumer rights.
Where original packaging is unavailable, ForgePC may provide alternative instructions for safely packaging and returning the equipment.
9. Refunds
Where a refund is legally due, ForgePC will normally process the refund through the original payment method used for the purchase.
ForgePC currently accepts payments exclusively through Stripe. We do not accept or process customer payments by bank transfer or cash.
Stripe refunds are normally returned to the original payment method. The time taken for the funds to appear in your account may depend on your card issuer or bank.
Where a statutory cancellation right applies, refunds will be processed in accordance with the applicable legal requirements.
10. Exchanges
ForgePC does not operate a general change-of-mind exchange programme for custom or made-to-order PCs.
Where a product is faulty, damaged, incorrect or does not conform to the agreed specification, the appropriate statutory remedy will be determined in accordance with Irish consumer law.
Where appropriate, this may involve repair, replacement, price reduction or refund.
11. Deposits and completed builds
Once components have been purchased and assembly has begun, ForgePC may have incurred costs specifically associated with the customer's order.
If a customer changes their mind or refuses to proceed with a completed custom build for reasons unrelated to a fault, damage or failure to match the agreed specification, the applicable deposit may be retained to cover costs already incurred, subject to applicable consumer law.
This does not affect statutory remedies where ForgePC has failed to provide the agreed goods or where the goods are faulty or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.
12. Manufacturer warranties
Individual components may also be covered by a manufacturer's warranty in addition to the statutory consumer rights applicable to your purchase.
Where appropriate, ForgePC may assist with manufacturer warranty claims.
A manufacturer's warranty does not replace or restrict your statutory consumer rights.
13. Delivery damage
If your PC arrives visibly damaged, please contact ForgePC as soon as reasonably possible.
We may request photographs or videos of:
- The outer packaging
- Any visible damage
- The internal packaging
- The PC itself
- Any damaged components
This information may help us investigate the issue with the courier and determine the appropriate remedy.
Customers should not attempt repairs on a visibly damaged PC before contacting ForgePC.
14. Collection orders
For orders collected directly from ForgePC, the same cancellation, return and statutory consumer rights apply.
Collection does not remove or reduce any statutory rights applicable to the goods.

16. Statutory rights
This Returns & Cancellation Policy operates alongside, and does not replace, your statutory consumer rights.
Nothing in this policy prevents a consumer from exercising rights available under the Consumer Rights Act 2022 or other applicable Irish or EU consumer protection legislation.
Where a statutory right provides a remedy that differs from this policy, the statutory right will apply.
